In celebration of the grand opening of its 1,500th store in Mainland China, Watsons organized a charity fun run in Guangzhou on 20 July to mark this joyous occasion with a note of care to the community. This charitable run aimed to raise fund for Sowers Action, while arousing public awareness on the needs of children in rural regions of Mainland China and spreading positive energy to the society.
The Run received overwhelming response with nearly 500 staff members and loyal customers from Watsons joint hand with supplier representatives to form relay teams in the challenge. Over RMB300,000 donations were raised during the event and all proceeds will go to Sowers Action to support its Sowers Library scheme in Yunnan, to bring more education opportunities to students in the rural region.
