Charity Christmas Cards at Kruidvat

Friday January 12th, 2007

During last Christmas shopping season Kruidvat supported the Bart Foundation. The Bart Foundation received a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of each Christmas card sold at Kruidvat. Customers didn't have to pay any extra for these cards. The Bart Foundation is founded by family, colleagues and friends of Bart the Graaff after his death in 2002 to support young people with a serious illness or disability to help them to fulfil their ambitions.

"Bikkels" and Bart de Graaff

The foundation named these young people "Bikkels" ("toughies") to emphasize the courage and persistence they need to have to overcome their barriers.
Bart the Graaff was well known in the Netherlands for his stand up comedian acts and his surprising/fresh way of making television. Although he suffered from kidney disease Bart de Graaff did fulfil most of his ambitious plans. This way he set an example for young disabled people and encouraged them to always aim high. In 1997 he founded his own successful broadcasting network (BNN) which primarily targeted at a young audience. The Bart Foundation is based on the ambitious drive of Bart de Graaff.

Why does Kruidvat support The Bart Foundation?

Kruidvat is eager to help young people with a serious illness or disability who strive to make the most of their opportunities in life.
