On 13 January 2006, the first Watsons Personal Care store in Indonesia opened in PONDOK INDAH MALL 2 in South Jakarta.
This 6,550 sq ft Watsons store features a new and unique health and beauty retail concept in the Indonesian market by offering a comprehensive and balanced range of core personal care products, cosmetics and fragrance, and health care categories including pharmacy and general merchandise items all in one store.
This store opening created a roll out programme that will see Watsons operating in many retail centres in Jakarta and continues into other major cities throughout the country.
The addition of the high potential Indonesian market of more than 220 million people will further strengthen Watsons' position as the leading health and beauty chain in Asia. AS Watson Group now has a presence in 35 markets and operates more than 1,300 Watsons stores in 11 Asian markets including China, Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Philippines, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Türkiye.
