Turbocharged Growth in Mainland China
2014 marks the 25th anniversary of Watsons China. To celebrate this special milestone, Watsons China jointly staged a celebration ceremony cum charity sale at Zhengjia Plaza in Guangzhou with its major suppliers on 27 May. As part of the commemorative event, a charitable art exhibition showcasing the artworks of four renowned local illustrators and artists was held, which portrayed the beautiful moments of Chinese female customers, while demonstrating the brand’s stories and its continuous dedication to the beauty and wellbeing of women on Mainland for the past 25 years. During the ceremony, Watsons China and its 25 major suppliers presented the donation cheque to the representatives of Sowers Action with an aim to support their education assistance project in rural area in Guizhou Province. In the meantime, a make-up pouch charity sale kiosk was also launched to raise fund for Sowers Action.
AS Watson Group (ASW) celebrated another corporate milestone following its flagship retail brand Watsons reaching 4,000 stores at the end of 2013. Growing rapidly across Asia and Eastern Europe, in the past 3 years Watsons has been organically expanding its store portfolio, to bring quality Health & Beauty products and professional services to customers.
Since the introduction of its first store in Guangzhou by PARKnSHOP in 2010, TASTE has been receiving overwhelming responses by local consumers and the media. In April 2013, TASTE established initial presence in ShenZhen and was regarded as “the Real High-end Supermarket” by local media. In August, the second TASTE store in Guangzhou was unveiled in Tianhe area with a brand new image, which offers a comfortable shopping space with 30,000 top-notch products from around the world, bringing customers with impeccable one-stop shopping experience and enjoyment.
Watsons China stands amongst other world famous brands in Top 100 of the recently released "Top 100 Annual Weibo Influence Power" chart, which portraits the top performing brands in Sina Weibo, the most significant social media network in Mainland China.
The first TASTE on the mainland arrived in Guangzhou China Plaza on 2nd February, 2010 with the grand opening ceremony.
TASTE was introduced by PARKnSHOP, the food retailer brand pioneered by the renowned AS Watson Group. It enriches the tastes and lifestyles of the urban consumers by providing “More Than Food” when they shop.
As consumption power increases, the citizens are looking for better service and products quality. Therefore, we would like to bring TASTE to the Guangzhou, an international city, providing local customers and foreigners with convenient, quality increasingly and healthy choices.
