I feel honoured to have been selected to be a reverse mentor of Malina Ngai, Group COO of AS Watson Group and CEO of AS Watson (Asia & Europe). My main role as a mentor is to share with her the emerging technologies and latest shoppers trends, and we also discuss how to be more customers obsessed by adapting O+O (online and offline) innovations to put a smile on their faces.
We had great in-depth discussions on the topics that we are both really passionate about, particularly on how to make decisions based on customer insights and increase synergy across teams. Malina is a real inspiration to me and I’ve taken a lot of business lessons from her generous advice and insights. I realised that we have to be more customers focused as we continue to grow and develop our digital presence, in a bid to stay ahead of the competition. The programme also helped me to ensure that we are all working towards the same goals as a business.
It’s amazing to work for a company that never rests on its past success. I feel like this programme is a great example of how AS Watson never stops learning and it’s a real honour to be part of a scheme that promotes continuous learning.
