AS Watson Group organised the Project LOL Elderly Visit, a highlighting activity of Global Volunteer Day 2018, with the support of 950 volunteers from the Group’s business units and 45 business partners to visit more than 1,800 singleton elderly in Hong Kong on 14 October 2018.
Mr Dominic Lai, Group Managing Director of AS Watson said, “We are happy to serve 1,800 elderly in the community with our suppliers and colleagues today. Project LOL has been extended to the Group’s 24 markets around the world, which the charity and volunteering activities have served over 2.6 million beneficiaries and accumulated more than 330,000 volunteer service hours. This year, the Group is also proud to working across our business units around the world to introduce the “Give a Smile” Medical Charity Campaign, enabling 1,000 children with cleft palate or cleft lip to smile for the first time.”
With the support of Hong Kong Christian Service and Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council Limited, the event was successfully held and enabled the volunteers to send their love and care to the elderly in need, and also bring Lots of Love and Lots of Laugh to the community.
