“Watsons Angels” Save Children with Heart Disease

Tuesday December 1st, 2015

Every year in Ukraine, more than 4,000 children with heart disease undergo dangerous operations that are carried out using outdated methods. Now, children are benefiting from “Watsons Angels”, a CSR project by Watsons Ukraine. The aim of the project is to raise HKD775,000 to buy 36 tiny heart occluders – with them, patients do not need to suffer from complicated operations.

Yevgeniya Gapchinska, a Ukrainian artist and children’s literature illustrator, created unique magnets that are sold in Watsons stores all over Ukraine. Many customers have added their own contributions to this kind-hearted project. So far, we have raised almost HKD700,000 from the sale of the magnets, and 23 children have been saved.
